RDP's Taxomatic provides an intuitive way to examine the relationship between thousands of sequences and aids in finding taxonomic anomalies (misplaced sequences stand out as stark contrasts).

Taxomatic was conceived as a tool for aiding in the interpretation of large-scale phylogenetic trees and provides an interactive heatmap representation of distance matrices (zoom and pan, tool tips with organism information on mouseover, user-selected color scale shows minimum/maximum distance).

Use taxonomy data from . . .

  • RDP's taxonomy (available for any RDP public or user sequences)
  • User specified taxonomy in XML format
  • Use no taxonomy for an overview of sequence relationships
